What people are saying
The Rookie has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from audiences, with many praising its humor, likable characters, and engaging storylines. Reviewers have noted that the show is a “blast” and provides “optimistic, weekly escapism.” Some reviewers appreciate the show’s ability to balance light-hearted moments with more serious themes. However, not all opinions are uniform. A few reviewers have criticized the show for taking a left-wing stance, particularly in its handling of social issues following George Floyd’s death. They argue that this shift led to an awkward and heavy-handed tone, which detracted from their enjoyment of the series.
