What people are saying
Many reviewers praised the unique portrayal of Little Amélie’s character, noting that her bond with Nishio-san is a highlight of the film. Some appreciated the subtle yet bold presentation of symbolism through her eyes, suggesting that she embodies an undefinable concept that fuels her imagination and curiosity. However, a few critics felt that the film’s tone and themes might be better suited to an older protagonist, as Little Amélie’s character may come across as somewhat childish or naive at times.
